Steps & FAQs

Your Pet Profile ‼️

This is one of the most important places in the Joii App for study participants, as you’ll notice us often referring to your Pet Profile when you have steps to complete.

When you open the Joii App, please navigate to the bottom right hand corner, and select the dog in the QoL Dog Study. This is your Pet Profile.

This is where you’ll find outstanding steps and your screening call appointment card once you’ve booked it for Step 1. See below. Additionally, to get in touch with us, you can click on the bell icon and use the Study Support button 🔔

❌ Please do not use the ‘SPEAK TO A VET’ button to access study-related appointment bookings ❌

Step 1

You’ve now been invited to book a screening call – great news! This virtual call will happen within the Joii App with one of our friendly vets, to make sure that you and your dog are suitable to be enrolled into the study. You’ll also be able to ask any questions.

Once you’ve been prompted to book a screening call, visit your Pet Profile or use the link we contacted you with. You can then use our calendar to book your appointment.

After booking, your confirmed appointment card will appear in your Pet Profile, as shown below. Please be ready to join the call 5 – 10 minutes before.

You will be prompted to complete a questionnaire which will become available in the Joii App on the day of your call. Again, this will be done in the Joii App and must be done before your call. You’ll find it in your Pet Profile.

Please see below for a preview of our screening questionnaire, which will appear in your Pet Profile on the day of your call.

Step 2

Your screening call has been completed and you’ve been advised that you and your dog appear to be suitable candidates. Nice work!

We now need to review your dog’s clinical history. What we’ll need is for you to contact your veterinary practice ASAP and request that they share this history with ‘VET-AI’ for the Quality of Life Dog Study by emailing it to clinical[email protected]

VET-AI is the company that brings you Joii.

Some participants will be able to complete Steps 2 and 3 at the same time if they don’t already have an in-person appointment booked.

Step 3

We need to know exactly when your in-person veterinary appointment is booked for.

You may have booked it already, or you might be in the process of getting it booked. Either way, once you have a time and date confirmed for your dog, please submit it via your Pet Profile.

Please do not email us with appointment details; these must be submitted via the Joii App. You will receive prompts to do this.

Step 4

We will send you a prompt to review the Terms & Conditions for this study. A link to them will be available in your Pet Profile.

Please have a read through and agree using the Joii App if you wish to proceed with the study.

Step 5

We will prompt you when it’s time to download the Animal Research Tool App, which we refer to as ART.

This is a mobile App available to download for free via the App Store or Google Play Store

Once you have downloaded it, please register you and your dog using the study code provided to you by our team.

You’ll see that your appointment date is automatically displayed under ‘Vet Appointments’ in the Home section of the Art App. 13 March 2025 is the example below ⬇️ If this is incorrect, you can click ‘Confirm Appointment Date’ and amend it.

Step 6

3 – 6 days before your vet appointment, you’ll be prompted to complete one questionnaire in the ART App called the Quality of Life Assessment, which takes approx 2 minutes to complete.

Navigate to ‘Home’ in ART to locate and start this assessment.

⚠️ This must be done on time, before your in-person vet appointment, otherwise you will not be able to successfully complete the study ⚠️

Step 7

It’s the day of your in-person vet appointment. Please follow the below instructions carefully and make sure you have your phone handy at the vet clinic.

At 8am, a link will appear in your Pet Profile. This is a link for your vet, so they can complete their questionnaire.

During your consultation, please hand your phone to your vet, and prompt them to complete this.

⚠️ Failure to complete this will unfortunately result in removal from the study ⚠️

Once you’ve finished up at your vet appointment and you’re confident that your vet has completed their questionnaire, please confirm your attendance in the ART App by adding a check-in. See below.

Step 8

It’s the final step! 🐶

We’ll prompt you to complete a feedback questionnaire in the Joii App. The link will be available in your Pet Profile once we have marked your in-person vet appointment as successfully completed. Please allow a few days for us to check this.

Once you’ve done the end of study feedback questionnaire, we’ll get your Amazon voucher processed and sent to you within 7 working days.

Don’t forget to check your spam/junk folders.
