About Jennifer

I qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2011 and began my career in mixed practice, working in some beautiful places including Edinburgh, the Lake District and Glasgow. I've also volunteered at animal shelters in India, Nepal, Thailand and Spain, which has shaped how I think about animal care across very different communities.

I joined Joii in 2020 and became part of the content team in 2022. I work mainly with dogs, cats and small furries, and I'm particularly interested in nutrition, preventative healthcare, dermatology and behaviour. My aim is to break complex topics down into clear, practical steps that owners can start using straight away.

Why I became a vet

I've always known I wanted to be a vet. There was never really another option for me. My passion started with my papa, who dreamed of becoming a vet himself when he was younger. That love for animals stuck with me, and it's grown into a career I care about every day.

Outside of work

I love travelling, being outdoors and photographing animals in their natural habitats. Seeing wildlife where it truly belongs is a constant reminder of why I chose this path. I travel a lot, so rather than keeping pets of my own I pet-sit whenever I can.
